MDS offers two JTAG interfaces for development of software for stand-alone systems using NXP Semiconductors TriMedia/Nexperia processors:
Both support PNX0190, PNX1500, andPNX1700 processor families. The PCI-JTAG additionally supports the PNX1300 processor (the USB JTAG does not support PNX1300).
NOTE: For early adopters of the new NXP PNX1005 chip: The USB-JTAG does not currently support the PNX1005 -- you should use the PCI-JTAG instead.
Download, run, and debug your TriMedia/Nexperia code using the dvpMon and tmdbg GUI tools contained in the NXP Semiconductors NDK. The Included JCON/MJCON tools offer command-line download/run with attached stdout console for in-field diagnostic capability of your stand-alone system.
Program boot eeprom devices in-place on the target board using boundary-scan capability of TriMedia/Nexperia chip (JPGM software included).
Use to put programs into flash memory on your target board or system.
More information can be found on the datasheet.
NOTE: These interfaces use a standard JTAG connection to the target system, but they are not intended for use as general purpose JTAG analysis/control tools. These interfaces are designed to operate within the context of the NDK/TCS toolset. Specifically, boundary-scan operations are limited to those used by the tools. Operation as complete boundary scan analysis/control JTAG devices would require additional software and is not supported as part of the standard products.
